Biography
Luciano
Pigozzi: Born in Novellara, Reggio Emilia - Italy -
January 10th,
1927
A
good Italian bit player, he begun his long and lucky career for his similarity
with the english actor Peter
Lorre. After several years, to remove the "cliché"
of the "look alike actor", he grow up the beard improving his
characters.
Antonio
Margheriti notice him in: "The monk of Monza"
a comedy with Totò directed by Sergio Corbucci,
which in the same location Antonio Margheriti shot his masterpiece "Castle
of Blood"
(1963). But he will not work with Antonio until 1967 in "Schoolgirl
Killer" a Thriller which will anticipate the style
that will become famous with Dario Argento.
In that film Antonio choose him for his similarity with Peter Lorre, but
after will give to him different roles, like in: "Vengeance" a
gothic-horror western or like: "The
Unnaturals"
a film of an almost indefinable genre, judged one of Antonio's
masterpieces.
Since
that time, between them grown up a huge friendship and Antonio gives to Luciano
Pigozzi some more interesting and bigger roles, until become
a co-leading role whit David
Warbeck or Chris Connelly
in the adventure saga that Antonio shot in the Philippines after the
success of Steven
Spielberg's "Indiana Jones".
Luciano
Pigozzi always used, in his entire career, the pseudonym of: Alan
Collins
