The second script written by Antonio Margheriti for his friend and Director Turi Vasile, and for Gilberto Carbone for Titanus. The film is a comedy on a professional soccer team, a world that Antonio loves and knows very well, having played soccer when he was living in Verona, for the Verona Soccer Team, which was in third division. But he retired after a serious accident during a game. Antonio said that, during a game, he jump to catch the ball he became also hit badly by an opponent player which crunched his hand against the pole, breaking him couple of fingers. Even after so many years, Antonio had difficulty to fold up one finger on the right hand.

Story

 

Armando is the trainer of a small, but harmonious soccer team; the two good players are: Franco, a young husband, whose wife Emma expects a child and Aldo, who is in love with Paola, the daughter of Mr. Fontana, which is the President of the soccer team and the proprietor of a blooming company exporter of wines, Mr. Fontana is likewise ambitious as stingy. He makes him called baron, but it is extremely hard to get form him even a small amount of money for the team. The baron is against to the relationship of his daughter with Aldo and tries in every way of prevent it. A day happens that a rich manager from Milan, who is looking for good players for his team, express his interest for Franco and Aldo. This news, causes the breakup of the harmony in the team, and while it was about to win the championship, begins to lose almost every games. Armando is desperate; not so the baron, when he hears talking about 20 millions, offered to buy the "Golden legs" of the two boys. Franco's son birth seems to bring again a some peace in the team; but soon the things goes badly again. To rescue the situation, arrives the news that they've been chose to play against the Italian national team for a match of training. The team plays well, giving the maximum, and winning the game. The boys realize that if united they could do big things, Franco and Aldo decide to stay with the team, and bring them to the highest division. Even the baron decides to support the team with more money and also gives his consent to the marriage between his daughter and Aldo.
