Antonio,
was a very good friend of Sergio Leone,
and in 1971 will build and direct, for one of Leone's masterpieces: "A
Fistful of Dynamite", the sequence of the military trains'
explosions. Antonio will supervise the constructions of the miniatures
which he made in a giant scale, (the train was on a
scale of 1:7, which means that all put together was over 30 feet long)
Antonio will also direct the shooting of the entire sequence, using five
high speed cameras with a new generation lenses. The results was simply
amazing, and that sequence enter in the History of movies. Sergio Leone
had a great professional respect for the work of Antonio Margheriti, and
he also calls him for a very difficult effect for "Once
upon a time in America", but that sequence at the end was
never done. |

Curiosity
|
In
this film appear, in the role of Sean (a very small part, which is seen
only in the flashback on James Coburn) David
Warbeck, who will become, ten years after, the favorite actor
of Antonio and will be the leading actor in all his action film based on
the Indiana Jones adventure or the Vietnam war. |
